The most incredible exhibit of artwork in the world takes place once a year, each and every year, way out in the middle of a dried-up lake bed in northern Nevada.

I’m talking about the Burning Man festival.

Nothing out there –– no museum, no street fair, no arts council event can outshine the creativity on hand at each year’s Burning Man gathering.

My first Burn took place in 1997.

And I made it back to the playa in 2013.

One of the standout exhibits of 2013 was Marco Cochrane’s 55 foot tall, free-standing, wire mesh, LED-light illuminated Truth Is Beauty sculpture.

Visible across all three miles of the Burning Man playa, Truth Is Beauty stood out (literally) as a piece of art, as a landmark during the daylight, and as a beacon at night.
