I love a good story…
I love a well-written story…
I love a good well-written story…
Myself, I can barely string two coherent sentences together, and so I’m forever doomed to be a lousy writer with negligible narrative skills. On its own this wouldn’t be a problem but –– as fate would have it –– this is the portion of the website where I’m supposed to tell you the story of my life, the influences in my life, how I chased and captured my muse, and that whole “what it means to be an artist” sort of crap.
Ugh…
I’ll spare you the tedious, self-confessional stuff and just get down to basics: I’m 52 years old, live in the Pacific Northwest, have worked in various segments of media production for the past 30 years, and repeatedly get mistaken for the actor, Richard Gere, when I travel..
Really… I’ve been chased down streets –– multiple times –– by people who thought I was Richard Gere.
Oh… And when I grow my beard out and wear a baseball cap, people think I look like Steven Spielberg.
Yes… Really.
Anywhooooo.. What the hell do I do?
Well… I take photographs. Very stylized photographs, with a strong emphasis on bold colors and dramatic lighting. I’ve shot for national magazines, local newspapers, entrepreneur conferences, NGO’s, large corporations, art galleries, well-known beverage companies, advertising agencies, etc, etc, etc… I also do my own Photoshop work, and clients often bring me onto a project because of the way I style my Photoshop treatments.
At the same time, I also record audio.
I’ve recorded audio interviews for documentary projects with National Geographic, Discovery Channel, The Learning Channel, the BBC, and PBS. I also have a wide range of corporate clients who I’ve done work for, and these clients have taken me all around the planet with my microphones and audio gear
Lastly, because I just can’t stand to sit still, I also do some product design work, a bit of CAD/CAM, and — for lack of a better word — “MacGyvering.” Products I’ve designed for the photography industry are in place at Google’s main campus, Apple, The Kennedy Center, and Low Earth Orbit.
Specialties: I make my living solving problems and figuring stuff out.
